Asa castle
Established in 2001 as a help to friends moving into newly built homes, gradually became a hobby and sprung into a passion that birthed Asa Castle. In 2012, the Managing Director of Asa Castle began yet another construction journey of her life by supervising the construction of her home in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, from start to finish. Upon the project’s completion, she began what she loved most, designing her beautiful home; she worked so much on her home that a few friends borrowed her concept for their homes, and some requested to give theirs a unique touch.
During the 2016 Fort McMurray fire, the Asa Castle owner relocated to Edmonton amidst all evacuees. The artist began searching for a home when it was obvious that she would call Edmonton home. The anchor of Asa Castle knew what she wanted in a home and, in search of it, viewed and declined the number of homes until she found the one which gave her more leverage to explore her artistic creation.
Asa Castle takes pride in a minor re-modelling of a tiny space to designing a brand-new home as well as its interior decorating and styling, even as small as foot mat or hand towels.
The word Asa is more spiritual than physical; depending on the language, culture, and country, it means different things. For Igbo-speaking Nigerians, Asa means very beautiful. Asa Castle is a home for every work of art ranging from throw pillows, canvas acrylic and geode resin wood painting as well as redefining your space; simply put, “THE HOME OF AESTHETICS”.

About the Founder
Lilian Amaka Okocha, is the Founder and Creative Director of Asa Castle, a luxury interior design and lifestyle brand dedicated to creating elegant, timeless, and inspiring spaces. With over 20 years of professional experience spanning strategic leadership, project management, operations, and organizational development, she brings a unique blend of business excellence and artistic creativity to every project.
Driven by a passion for beauty, functionality, and intentional living, Amaka believes that every space should tell a story. Through Asa Castle, she transforms residential and commercial interiors into environments that reflect her clients’ personalities, lifestyles, and aspirations. Her design philosophy combines contemporary elegance with rich African influences, creating spaces that are both sophisticated and deeply meaningful.
As an accomplished interior stylist, acrylic and resin artist, home décor curator, and creative entrepreneur, Amaka specializes in designing interiors that seamlessly balance aesthetics with functionality. From complete home transformations and space planning to custom artwork, luxury décor, event styling, and bespoke design consultations, she works closely with clients to bring their vision to life with excellence and attention to detail.
Lilian’s corporate leadership experience provides a distinctive advantage in managing design projects with professionalism, strategic planning, attention to detail, and exceptional client service. Her ability to understand client needs, manage complex projects, and deliver high quality results has earned her a reputation for excellence across diverse industries.
She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) specializing in Strategic Leadership, Human Resources, and Operations Management from Athabasca University, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Lagos. She is also a Certified Executive Coach through the Certified Coaches Federation, Canada. Currently running a masters in Counselling program with specialty in Marriage and Family at Canadian Christian College. In recognition of her leadership, she was named one of the Top Four Female Executives by the Global Society of Empowered Women.
Beyond interior design, Lilian is an entrepreneur, mentor, speaker, author, and artist whose work is inspired by creativity, excellence, and purposeful living. Whether designing luxurious interiors, creating original artwork, or styling elegant spaces, her goal is to help clients experience environments that promote comfort, beauty, and lasting memories.
